One of the most pleasurable aspects of a career in teaching, as any teacher will tell you, is seeing a young person develop into an adult and fulfilling their potential.  It was very encouraging, therefore, for Stewards Academy to receive a letter from the Right Honourable David Laws MP, the Minister of State for schools, congratulating the Academy on its examination results.  Stewards Academy is now in the top 90 schools in England, showing the greatest sustained improvement in the percentage of pupils achieving 5 or more A*-C grade GCSEs, including maths and English.  Not only that, Mr Laws congratulated the Academy on the progress that disadvantaged pupils have made. He wrote “you are increasingly effective at providing pupils with a good start in life and preparing them well for their futures.”  Deputy Headteacher Helen Ginger said “This is welcome recognition by government of the hard work that Stewards pupils and staff put into their studies”.
