Heroes and Villains for Children in Need!
To support Children in Need 2018 the charity team at Stewards Academy decided on a theme of Heroes and Villains! All staff and pupils participated in a non-uniform day with many dressing up in their favourite hero or villain costume.
A competition was held at lunchtime for the best dressed with prizes including positive points as part of the academy’s rewards system. All of the entrants should be congratulated for getting in to the spirit of the day and having great fun dressing up. The winners of the competition were decided by Helen Ginger, Headteacher, and Dani Ramsey, Assistant Headteacher.
The charity reps led by Heads of Charity team- Amelia, Rosie and Jamie- produced some excellent cakes and delicious treats for the bake sale. Jamie also produced some beautiful wooden spinning tops that were snapped up by staff and pupils alike.
The Hall was buzzing at lunchtime with the bake sale and costume competition. Di Johnson, Assistant Headteacher, said: “I am so proud of the Head of Charity Team and their reps for coordinating such a brilliant day. They firstly decided on how they wanted the Academy to support Children in Need and then came up with the theme for the day, produced posters, spoke to the year groups and spent time baking a brilliant array of treats to sell! Their efforts have been fantastic and as a result the academy has raised £944.50 for a very worthy charity. Well done to the Stewards Family for getting involved.”
