Stewards Academy was delighted to hold its Annual Presentation of Awards Evening recently. With 125 prizes, 117 recipients, family members, governors and guests it was a wonderful celebratory event. Prize winners from Years 7-10 were nominated by their form tutors for a variety of reasons, including being excellent role models, resilience, progress, commitment to the life of the academy. Year 11s also received tutor awards and subject prizes for academic excellence. Our 9 Jack Petchey Achievement Awards winners were able to celebrate with us also. Our final awards were our COURAGE awards where students had been nominated by members of the Pastoral and Senior Leadership teams. Our awards were presented by senior students Dariusz, Precious, Ethan, Ruby, in their last official job as Head Boy, Head Girl and deputies, Miss Beckett Pastoral Lead Year 11, Mrs Ginger Headteacher and Mrs Miller Chair of Governors. We were also lucky to have Millie, an award winner last year, to present our final award of the evening. Excellent performances were delivered by our performing arts students - Lena, Grace, Katie, Harleigh, Leylani and Ruby. Mrs da Vighi, Enrichment Co-Ordinator and event organiser, said: “This event is always one of the highlights on the academy calendar. It is great to bring together so many members of our academy community and to welcome back former senior students to celebrate with us. Congratulations to all of our prize winners.”
