Jack Petchey Speak Out
In June, thirty Year 10 pupils participated in this year’s Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge at Stewards Academy. Organised through the Jack Petchey Foundation and Speakers Trust, the all-day event focused on pupils improving their speaking skills through various fun group activities. The climax of the day was the presentation of pupils’ own, original short speech to the rest of the group with the opportunity to progress to the regional finals of the competition and beyond.
Organising teacher, Simon Ginger said, “Speaking is a key skill in all areas of life, and it was very pleasing to see all the pupils growing in confidence throughout the day. I’m sure the memories of this day will remain with them for some time to come.”
