During the summer holidays of 2023, Stewards Academy opened its doors to over 100 pupils for ‘Summer School’. The school was a buzz of activity, life, and joy for the 5 days.

Pupils got the chance to meet their form tutors and fellow tutees, meet their teachers and socialise with their new peers. A variety of activities such as art, rocket launches, baking, music, creative writing, maths challenges, historic battles (involving water balloons!!), trampolining and dodgeball took place.

Students were greeted every morning in the hall for a year group meeting before heading off to their other enrichment activities. The week was finished with a sports day battle between their tutor groups with each tutor group showing their skills and challenging each other through each of their own designed Hakas!

Not only was the week a huge success for pupils, but staff members also thoroughly enjoyed meeting and getting to know our new cohort. It has been lovely to recognise their faces as they walk through the door to start the new term.

New friendships were made, and an excellent week of fun was had by all! I would also like to thank our prefects who helped with the new cohort, the week would not have been the same without you! - Miss Mcgee
