Jack Petchey Awards
The Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme recognises outstanding young people between the ages of 11-25 throughout London and Essex. The scheme is a reward and recognition initiative which enables schools and youth organisations to celebrate the achievements of their young people as well as receive additional funding. “We do it because we want to help young people raise their aspirations, believe in themselves and make a contribution to their society” said Sir Jack Petchey CBE. At Stewards, all pupils have the opportunity to nominate their peers or a staff member to receive the Leadership award, by completing a nomination form. Staff are also able to nominate the young people they work with. The Student Leadership Team help in the decision making process. Nine pupils each year achieve this prestigious award and are recognised for various achievements including; their commitment to academy life, charity work, academic studies. Congratulations to this years winners, Emily Naylor, Ruby Ball, Melik Dziri, Rebecca Brown, George Springthorpe, Nyah Shoebridge, Logan Spry, Tiia Konstantinou, Lauren Dennis and Miss Beckett.
